How to assign a user task to a dynamic list of users

Hello Axon Ivy Team,

I need to show a user task only to a dynamic subset of users (not everyone in a role). Using a static role isn’t flexible enough. I saw the “Responsible user from attribute” option, but that seems to accept a single user.

Question: Is there a way to pass a list/collection of users (e.g., List<IUser> or a list of usernames) so only those users can see and take the task? If not, what’s the recommended pattern to achieve this (e.g., candidate users from an attribute, a temporary/dynamic group, or another assignment option)?

I am also wondering: are there any known issues or breaking changes when migrating from Axon Ivy 12 to 13? Since we have a running production system that is working well, I want to make sure the migration goes smoothly.

What are the main risks or pitfalls we should be aware of?

Is there an official migration guide or recommended best practice for upgrading?

Anything in particular that tends to break (e.g. APIs, task handling, configuration)?

I think in LTS 12 you could achieve a similar feature by crafting a temporary/dynamic-group just for the sake of assigning users on a concrete task.

Migrating with a productive environment from LTS12 to a Leading-Edge version (13) must be wisely considered.

In general I'd recommend to jump onto Leading Edge releases for new and smaller customer projects, if you are in need of one of the new big features of the leading-edge release in development.

For large existing productive projects the risk is high that you do not get the comfort and fixes you need on the way.

I could not find in the documentation how to actually create or use a temporary/dynamic group for task assignment. I suppose it has to be done in combination with the “Role from attribute” setting?

Could you please point me to the right place in the docs or an example of how this can be configured?

pass the created role (name) to the Task using the "Role from Attribute" setting.
