With Axon Ivy 13.2, we are taking an important step in the evolution of our PRO Designer.
What is changing?
The Eclipse-based PRO Designer has entered maintenance mode and Axon Ivy 13.2 is the last release of the Eclipse-based PRO Designer.
No new features will be added going forward
We will continue to deliver critical bug fixes
Existing projects remain fully supported
Note: The Eclipse-based PRO Designer LTS 10 and LTS 12 will receive continuous support, analogous to our existing support guidelines, see https://dev.axonivy.com/release-cycle.
This decision allows us to focus our development efforts where they deliver the most value.
PRO Designer as a Visual Studio Code Extension
Even though the VS Code Extension is still labeled beta, it already provides a modern, fast and extensible development experience and receives all new feature development.
Recent additions include:
Project conversion tools to migrate existing projects
Full support for Ivy Archive (*.iar) files
Integrated test execution inside VS Code
Automatic download and management of the Axon Ivy Engine
Simplified Maven builds using the standard maven-compiler-plugin
Starting with Axon Ivy LTS 14, the PRO Designer will be available exclusively as a Visual Studio Code Extension.
