Various improvements were made based on feedback from Team WaWa, who started developing Axon Ivy Portal with VS Code.

Value

Watch target/classes folder to invalidate the Ivy class loader when content changes.
This allows Java classes to be added and modified, making the changes automatically available for the design time (e.g., process editor) and runtime (e.g., process simulation).
Some Windows users have experienced difficulties using the VS Code extension due to security tools. Symptoms include, for example, slow engine startup. See VS Code meets Microsoft Defender. Can you beat @Elio Di Puma, who uses Windows Dev Drive and starts an engine in about 4 seconds?
Fixed IvyScript completion so that it again lists all classes, interfaces, and enums available in your project (not fixed for NEO)
Fixed Type Browser (e.g. Data Class Editor) so that it again lists all classes, interfaces, and enums available in your project (not fixed for NEO)

The Case Map Editor is making real progress and is now officially part of VS Code 🎉
During Sprint Review 16, I demonstrated the new Case Map Editor prototype that originated from the 2025 Code Camp. Since then, the prototype has been cleaned up and integrated, so Case Maps can now be edited directly in VS Code.

You can create new Case Maps, edit existing ones, and use common editor features you’re already familiar with.

Next steps
We focused on stabilizing and polishing the existing Case Map Editor prototype, so there are still several areas with work ahead:

Add animation / preview support
Build a Case Map Viewer for dev-workflow-ui and Portal
Add validation
Polish the editor with more small tweaks and UX improvements

In this Sprint we added the Connection-Tester back into the Database Editor.

Using the Connection-Tester, you can test the configured connections directly in the Database Editor.
This allows you to verify all the configured Settings and ensures an efficient workflow.
It also displays the error and a suggested solution.
