Sunset Process for Market Extensions
We have established a sunset process within Product Management to gradually remove from the marketplace those market extensions
- for which a successor exists
- that are no longer intended to be offered on the Axon Ivy Market for strategic reasons
- or that have reached the end of their lifecycle for other reasons.
This sunset process will be carried out step by step. It’s always important to us to receive feedback from the community—perhaps we’ve overlooked reasons that justify keeping an extension on the Axon Ivy Market after all.
So step 1 will be always gathering stakeholder feedback - this Market Review, which you are currently participating in, will also serve as a communication channel.
We have established a deprecation phase—during this period, an extension is marked for sunset but remains available. No new features will be developed; only maintenance work and, of course, security fixes will be provided.
We have identified two distinct types of sunset processes for market extensions:
1. Version-Dependent Sunset
This occurs when a market extension becomes incompatible with a newer version of Ivy. As the core platform evolves, certain extensions may no longer function correctly or at all — not because they lack value, but because the underlying technical foundation has changed in a way that breaks compatibility.
2. Strategy-Dependent Sunset
This occurs when new, superior features are introduced directly into the platform that render an existing extension redundant. In this case, the extension isn't broken — it simply becomes obsolete because the platform now natively covers the same need in a better, more integrated way.
Both types ultimately lead to the same outcome — the retirement of an extension — but for fundamentally different reasons: one is driven by technical necessity, the other by strategic evolution. In any case, it is our intention to identify a successor for this feature.
Sunset Candidates
At this time, we have identified the following Market Extensions as candidates for sunset—we would like to emphasize that we would greatly appreciate feedback from our stakeholders on this matter. Are there any concerns?
DMN Decision Table - Version dependant sunset
Visual VM Plugin - Version dependant sunset
Chat GPT Assistant - Strategy dependant sunset - Successor: Smart Workflow
OpenAI ChatGPT - Strategy dependant sunset - Successor: Smart Workflow
Excel dialog importer - Version dependant sunset
Rule Engine Demos - Version dependant sunset
CMS Live Editor
The CMS Live Editor makes it possible to translate CMS entries on the fly without deployment. We have now also intoduced an auto-translation feature, using a KI translation tool.
Select the Source- and Target language:

Just mark several entries:

... and translate them with on single click:

As with our translation tool in Axon Ivy Designer, you can still perform a quality check before the translation is applied.
Release with 12.0.6 - 26.03.2026
