Role-Based Permission Management in Cockpit

It would be beneficial if roles other than administrators could manage permissions within Cockpit.
Additionally, it would be even better if visibility and edit permissions for each item could be customized per role.

Examples:

ReadOnly: View-only access
WebService: Only Web APIs can be viewed/edited; all other items are read-only
LogUser: Can view logs only

thanks for the detailed feedback and the concrete examples, this is exactly the kind of input that helps us prioritize.

Good news: we are actively working on a permission and role concept for the Engine Cockpit. The planned timeline is release 14.0 or shortly after, so with LTS 14. Your examples (ReadOnly, WebService, LogUser) align well with what we have in mind in terms of granularity.

We'll keep this thread in mind as we shape the details.
