Task Reminder for Responsible Users

Hi, we have now for several times heard this input from our business users:
It would be nice to have a feature to open tasks in Actions that allows users to set a reminder date for responsible users.

In an open task, under Actions add the function: “Remind responsible users on” (date input).
On the selected date, the system sends a reminder notification to all responsible users, similar to the existing notification when a task is created.
While the task remains open, responsible users can: set a reminder date, change the reminder date, remove the reminder date.
Once the task is marked as done/closed, any configured reminder is ignored (no reminder is triggered afterward).

What do you think about that - or is there already some functionality for such a use case?

Thank you for raising this request regarding the ability to set reminder dates for responsible users on open tasks.

We consider this a meaningful and valuable extension of the platform, and it aligns well with the direction we want to take task management in.

At this time, however, our team's capacity is fully dedicated to the preparation and delivery of Version 14. Given this priority, we are not able to take on this feature as part of our current planning.

We will add this request to our backlog and re-evaluate it as soon as capacity allows, once Version 14 preparations are complete.

There are several ways you can build such a function with Axon Ivy today:

Use the expiry feature of tasks for this (allows for only one date when not using anything than the feature and its fields itself)
Build a generic solution which uses the cronjob for scheduling with an own database table (allows for multiple dates, other recipients than activators, etc.)

Given your requirement, I think the expiry feature might at least worthy of taking a look at. The latter solution is better suited if you need a more complex solution for this issue. Hope that helps!
