Global variable is changed when deploy to engine

Hi there,
I have created some global variables that have the default value "ON" or "OFF" but after deploying them to the engine by helm chart, the value is automatically changed to "true" or "false" on the engine. It's annoying because I need to change manually again on the engine. Do you know why I get this issue?

Hi,
yes the engine is interpreting 'on/off' and 'yes/no' values as booleans.

Especially if the type 'boolean' is enforced in the variables meta comment header via # [boolean].

How exactly is your variable defined? Here I can enforce a specific type by explicitly 'quoting' the var or supplying the # [string] type. See my test variable.yaml and the deployed values:
